Broccoli contains more calcium than most dairy products, so it’s a great diet choice for building bone mass. This is really beneficial for people who are lactose intolerant & have a more restricted diet.

Broccoli contains high levels of flavonoids, carotenoids lutein, zeaxanthin and beta-carotene; which are all really effective antioxidants. Antioxidants are various vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Since damaged cells play a big part in chronic diseases such as cancer, arthritis, and atherosclerosis; minimizing cell damage can significantly reduce the chances or severity of these diseases.
